Michael "Mikey" Johnson, Jr. Obituary

Michael Dean Johnson, Jr., born on February 1, 1997 in Elkton, Maryland, was taken from our world due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident on Friday, March 1st in Trenton, Kentucky.

Mikey lived a short 27 years, but those years will forever be cherished dearly. He continues to live his legacy through his wife, Joslyn Johnson; his two beautiful children, Jameson Michael Johnson (10 months old) and Kalia Lynn Johnson (4 years old); his mother, Renee Johnson; his younger twin brothers, Brett and Garrett Johnson and his older sister, Paige Williams. He now may forever rest with his predeceased family members, his father, Michael Dean Johnson, Sr. and his grandfather, William G. Morse, Sr.

Anyone who knew Mikey knew how his bright smile and charisma could lift your spirit. He was a loving husband and selfless father who made sure his children knew they could always count on him to be ready to play. He was a great friend, who would bend over backwards for those who needed his support, and he always made an effort to show up even in times of his own distress. He made sure to smile and say hello to everyone he passed by, even when it was harder to hold that smile. His kindness and sense of humor has always made him a good spirit to be around.

Due to the unexpected reality of this nature, we are sadly opening our hearts to settle his eternal resting, cremation and memorial service. Michael and his wife made plans of being cremated and their ashes to be planted as trees beside each other. Their 7-year anniversary of marriage falls on the 27th of March, making the month extremely difficult to bear. He will quite literally be forever carried by those he loved and who loved him. We open our arms with warmth and gratitude to you for taking the time to read this and appreciate every kind message to the family.

We extend a huge thank you to the Todd County Fire Department, EMT’s and all agencies involved with treating the children while in their care. We extend another huge thank you to the members of the Trenton Baptist Church for their generosity towards our family. Our hearts are out to you for your kindness and endless endurance of tolerating such an event.
